MS DHONI AND THE IDEA OF LEADERSHIP

Today everybody in India knows who Mahi is. Maybe people started appreciating MS Dhoni more after his movie "MS DHONI-The Untold Story" got released which is a biopic of the legend himself.  If you look at his game style now, he might be playing at the edge of his career.You might blame it on popularity or fandom but whatever Dhoni does it interests the whole nation. Starting from his debut to the latest photo on his Instagram. Maybe that’s what being a Nation hero stands for. Dhoni plays an inspiring character, whom the young generation can look up to not only as cricket player but also as a future leader whether it is just a sportsman or a young working guy.

lets go back to 2004 when a young tall figure guy with long hair made his debut for the international cricket team. His style as catchy as his aggressive batting style was.He started his career with a dramatic style as he didn’t have much pressure on his shoulder. But who would thought that this kid would lead the indian cricket team to win the world cup one day and full fill the broken dream of millions. There is no doubt that MS dhoni's calmed and composed inspiring character brings the best out of the other players on the pitch but Lets see what qualities of MS Dhoni as a leader makes him man amongst the boys.

LEAD BY EXAMPLE

MS Dhoni wasn't made  captain of the Indian cricket team for nothing. He had score lots of runs in his first class career and has continued to do the same in his international career as well.after becoming the captain, pressure never hold him back to perform at his top level. He still features in the ICC top 10 for ODI batsmen regularly and is applauded as one of the best finishers of the game. A lesson for every young  people here, is to strive to be the best at what they do. Many employees at popular organization would speak with a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder for their boss who’d still be very hands on and willing to get their hands dirty. The employees aspire to match that work ethic and the pursuit of excellence. There is no leadership technique that can match good old hard work and believed that has been one of the reasons for Dhoni’s unprecedented success.

THERE IS NO "I" IN "TEAM"

If you notice Dhoni,he doesn't hit you much of a celebrating guy of his achievements. Since becoming the captain he always had trust and respect for his team members. Humanity is a important character that a leader must possess.No matter how great you are as a captain, you are not a leader until your team accepts you as a one and in most of the success of a company it is the success of the whole team that brings home the winning trophy. So next time you finish your project give the fair amount of credits to your team member also.

This is the one trait that defines Dhoni's legacy. When MS Dhoni turned to Joginder Sharma instead of the veteran Harbhajan Singh, to bowl the last over of 2007 T20 World Cup Final, many thought that Dhoni was making a mistake. His decision making in the toughest situation makes him unique from other captains and this is not the only time we saw his leadership quality but also a numbers of times he did it for both his club and country. Despite critiques talking  about his peculiar batting style, he still bats the same way, to devastating effectiveness. Finally there is one man with set of ideas and unforgettable results stands  for what he believes.it is the quality of a perfect leader who is aware of himself or his surroundings and makes the decision accordingly. As a person you might not get to be the best leader for your team but knowing yourself and your environment is half of the battle.
