What's Hope ?

According to the dictionary HOPE means a feeling of expectation and desire for something to happen.To be honest even i didn't know what is the exact meaning of HOPE untill i read a story.

Its a story during World War II.Its about a father and a son, Mr.Conor and Mr Jr. Conor. The father was a clockmaker. Most of the time of his life he used to build or repair clock.Time was very valuable thing in his life.He was assigned to a task to build a clock for their local railway station.His son Jr.conor used serve for the country as a lieutenant  in USA army.when the world war II started.It was a difficult time for both of them to say goodbye. Jr.conor promised his father that he will return after the war, which he couldn't keep.The news letter came with a coffin.There was nothing but pieces of body inside it.Even the face wasn't recognizable. It teared Mr.Conor's life a part.He stopped working for a while.He already lost his wife a long time ago.But anyhow he finds his strength to finish the clock.

The Day came for the Opening ceremony of the City's Railway station.The Mayor and other big people of the city were there . Mr.Conor pulled the curtain over the clock to show what he was working on.There was a unique thing about the clock.It was moving backward.People thought Mr.conor must have made some mistake but He clarified to them that he did it on purpose.He
hoped if the time moves back then his son could come back to him or at least to the time before the war where he could say a proper goodbye to him.Everyone felt sorry for mr. conor at the ceremony. The mayor gave the order to keep the clock in the same way until couple of months when the place got destroyed because of the war.

Well Thats what HOPE is.Even if it is impossible we expect it to happen.Hope is what makes you to get up in the morning when You are not qualified enough but making ready yourself for the Job interview.Hope is what pulls the caterpillar out of his cocoon.Hope is when you are the most unpopular boy in the college but still have crush on the most beautiful girl in the college.I don't know much about hope but all i can say is its a good thing.
